2-Oxa-6-azaspiro[3.3]heptane - Introduction
2-oxa-6-azaspiro[3.3]heptane, often abbreviated as OASH, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H12N2O. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: OASH is a colorless to light yellow liquid.
-Melting point: about -15 ℃.
-Boiling point: About 186-188 ℃.
-Density: about 1.038g/cm³.
-Solubility: OASH is soluble in water, but also soluble in alcohol, ether and organic solvents.
Use:
OASH is mainly used in organic synthesis of Spiro reagents and catalysts. Its special Spiro structure can form a stable coordination compound with metal, which can be used to promote various organic reactions, such as carbonylation reaction, cyclization reaction and so on. At the same time, OASH can also be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds.
Method:
The preparation method of OASH is generally completed by a synthetic route of multi-step reaction. Here is one of the synthetic methods:
1. First, pentanone is reacted with ethyl acetate to generate pentanone acetate.
2. Under alcohol conditions, pentanone acetate reacts with p-aminophenol to generate pentanone acetate p-aminophenol ester.
3. Under alkaline conditions, pentanone acetate p-aminophenol ester reacts with sodium ammonium sulfite to generate pentanone acetate sodium ammonium sulfite.
4. Finally, sodium pentanone acetate ammonium sulfite reacts with phosphorus pentachloride to generate 2-oxa-6-azaspiro[3.3]heptane.
Safety Information:
- OASH is generally stable and relatively safe under normal conditions of use.
-However, avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract, and avoid swallowing.
-In industry and laboratories, safe practices should be observed, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment (e. G. Gloves, glasses, respirators, etc.).
-If you come into contact with OASH, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult your doctor's advice.
